'The Golden Readers Club' seniors program aims to promote socialization and active involvement of seniors in community life. This weekly program will be delivered through educational workshops designed to enhance seniors literacy skills– helping the seniors enjoy reading– as well as, increase their vocabulary skills, develop comprehension and public speaking skills, as well as, improve their critical thinking skills in order to enhance their knowledge, communication and leadership skills. The senior’s book club will incorporate the use of e-readers to experience the challenge of using new technology. Seniors will visit nearby libraries and learn from a reference librarian how to retrieve author’s information, reviews and check book databases.
